Nashville, Tennessee is a city know for its famous fairs like the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists who will be holding the 39th TACA Tennessee Craft Fair this coming May 7 to 9, 2010 at the
Centennial Park along West End Avenue and 25th Avenue North. The park is located right at the heart of the city just in front of the replica of the world famous Parthenon.
TACA Tennessee Craft Fair
The Craft Fair is one of Nashville's premiere events, showcasing the fine craftsmanship of more than 180 members across the state. More than 40,000 people visited previous fairs and a wide variety of uniquely handcrafted works are available for sale. Aside from the craft exhibits, visitors can eat in a food court serving a wide variety of meals, participate in exhibits and demonstrations.
Because of the exceptional quality of the products exhibited, the TACA Tennessee Craft Fair has been declared the number one Craft Fair in Tennessee by the Harris List, and is one of the "200 Best" craft fairs in America by the Sunshine Artist magazine.
Tomato Art Festival
The Tomato Art Festival is the biggest community event in the East Nashville Area. The festival marks the culmination of summer and the sixth celebration was held on August 8, 2009. The festival celebrates everything about the tomato – tomato and tomato product tastings, tomato martinis, tomato cooking demonstrations, and tomato art projects. The festival is held at the 5 Points area where the streets are cordoned off and hundreds of booths are set up. The festival is a crowd magnet and can be an exciting event to visit.
Flea Markets
The Tennessee State Fairgrounds Flea Market is one of the top ten flea markets in the United States. Dealers and sellers coming from more than 30 states flock to the State Fairgrounds to display their products in front of thousands of eager buyers. Shoppers, by the bus load converge on the flea market to peruse, the items looking for hard-to-find bargain items like gifts, antiques, collectibles, art, jewelry, house wares, and lots more. Admission to the flea market is free and is held on every fourth weekend of the month.
Wilson and Williamson County Fairs
While Nasville is the undisputed center for country music, one can get an authentic local experience by visiting the nearby Wilson and Williamson Counties. Both events are held in August, with the Williamson County Fair celebrated on the second week and William County's occurring on the last week of the same month. Both fairs are authentic American fairs of long standing, Williamson's started as early as 1857 while that of Wilson County is already 156 years old.
